If anyone told me I was going to find another author I liked as much as my all time favorite Maeve Binchy I wouldn’t have believed it!
But Anne Tyler is definitely it.
I also didn’t realize that I had already gotten a sample of her lovely stories in the movie The Accidental Tourist with William Hurt.
I loved this movie and had no idea she had written the book that they made into a movie.
Anne Tyler has written 16 books.
Her book Breathing Lessons was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1988.
She graduated from Duke University at 19 years old.
Okay, enough about the author.
This book was wonderful.
The characters become like family.
The book begins with a young couple and the war.
Then it takes you through their marriage, children and then the later years.
I don’t want to tell you too much because the story unfolds so unexpectedly in certain parts.
I read this book too quickly.
I found myself hiding from my family reading it in the closet.
Then only half listening to them thinking about what I had read.
I’m going to read every single one of her books!
Book Addict Alert.
