This is the best baked bread!
The next morning I sliced the bread, cut a hole in the center and fried an egg in it!
Do you want to make some bread?
Combine the following in a a large mixing bowl:
3 cups lukewarm water
32 ounces King Arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons instant yeast
( a 2 pound bag of King Arthur unbleached all-purpose flour is the exact amount)
Mix and stir everything together to make a very sticky, rough dough.
Next, let the dough rise at room temperature with plastic wrap on top for 2 hours.
* If you grease the bowl it will be easier to get the dough out of the bowl once it rises.
Now your going to put the dough in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
* If you leave it in their for 7 days you will have sourdough!
When your ready to bake it; take it out and sprinkle it with flour.
Divide it into 2 round balls or whatever shape you prefer.
Make three slices with a knife across the top.
Finally, let the dough rise again for 45-60 minutes and then put it on a baking sheet in a 350 degree oven.
* Another baking pan on the rack below filled with hot water will make the crust flexible and allow it to rise as high as possible.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
