A wonderful book for parents with children who have neurological disabilities but also those without them.
My first three children were relatively easy to raise but when my fourth child was born it was a different story.
Although I was older, the amount of time and effort he took even as a newborn was greater than all three of my older children.
Over the years I have heard it all from those who have no understanding of children who are neurologically wired differently.
I can say honestly that before my son was born I may have been one of those people on occasion.
Having a child with ADHD is very stressful for the whole family.
Couples with an ADHD child are twice as likely to end up divorced as the average couple.
This book is about real parents sharing their stories and reading them I felt better knowing I am not alone.
Also, at the end of the stories they shared where their child was and it was lovely to see how far they had come.
This made me feel hopeful and I actually felt like the book gave me a much needed pep talk !
Of course, the reward for all your hard work is the love of a child who is God’s gift.
Do me a favor:
Read this book and the next time you see a parent struggling with a child who has neurological challenges tell them they are a superstar.
You just might be the pep talk they so badly needed that day.
