My sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer recently shared the news with some of her Facebook friends in such a funny way.
Obviously, cancer is anything but funny but I believe her good sense of humor got her through a very difficult time in her life.
I wanted to share her post with you …
I wanted to share something with you because it may affect you as well.
Over the holidays I found out my left boob (LB) was trying to kill me!
She was quietly violent, like an evil ninja.
After further investigation I am quite sure that “RB” was in on it the whole time as well.
Now I am having to practice tough love by banishing them both forever.
It wasn’t that difficult a decision as the rest of my body parts were fearful and distrustful and didn’t believe LB or RB would truly be safe to be around.
My lymph nodes had a lawyer send me a legal eviction notice for LB and RB within the hour.
Here’s the part where YOU come in…upon intense interrogation by important people. LB and RB stated that they are part of a larger conspiracy and hinted that other boobs may be involved. So…if you haven’t already had your yearly mammogram or even your first mammogram you should go right out and get it done!!!
You need the peace of mind to know that yours are not in this “evil-ninja-gang” like mine! Trust me, mine had me fooled!!! I knew they were saggy but thought they were harmless.
And in a more serious tone, I would like to let my family and friends know that your help and support, humor and reaching out have made this situation sooooooo much better. My heart is so full and I feel so blessed to have people like you to be there for me.
I will not take it for granted and I hope I can be the friend to you that you have been to me. I am packed and ready to roll tomorrow.
#Monday I’ll be boob-less!
#Sometimes a sense of humor helps!
On Monday she had a bilateral mastectomy and is home recovering.
Cancer be gone!
Her courage was an inspiration to her family and friends.
To all wemon out there- get your mammogram and do your monthly self exams because prior to this we didn’t have any family history of breast cancer.
Sending special prayers for all those with Cancer-
