This is a sweet treat that is actually good for you!
I usually have one of these for breakfast.
1 cup of almond milk
2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter
1 frozen banana
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal
1 teaspoon of cacao nibs
Blend and enjoy!
A little about cacao nibs I learned as a newbie to these healthy smoothies:
They are actually chocolate that hasn’t been ground and mixed with sugar yet.
They’re extremely good for you and have an intense chocolate taste without being sweet.
My neighbor also adds 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to her smoothies.
After researching the benefits verses risks I have decided not to add it to my daily smoothie.
The research on the benefits is still in the preliminary testing stages. (rats I’m talking about)
