Many of the books I read are enjoyable and entertaining but only a select few do I think of over and over again. This is one of those books. There are a lot of misconceptions about the homeless or drifters. This is a true story about an amazing Christian who walked her talk. She befriended a homeless man and changed his life forever. What we don’t count on is that he has changed her life and the lives of her family forever. I don’t want to give too much away but I was deeply touched by this book. I keep a quote from this book on my kitchen cabinet…
“A successful person is one who is living a joyful life with the hand he or she was dealt. ”
I really feel like that applies to almost everyone of our lives. Success is about doing the best job you can where you are right now. It is not about money or looks but joy. God wants us to be joyful and enjoy our life with all it’s imperfections.
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Read it-You’ll never look at a homeless person the same way.
