My son’s Dad is putting on his tennis shoes.
He shows me the bottoms of the shoes.
The soles are worn.
I think he needs new shoes he says.
So later I tell my son we are going to yoga berry and the shoe store.
I am bribing him.
I already know he will not want new shoes.
I tell him we are going to the shoe store first.
This is part of our deal.
We look for velcro shoes.
The selection gets smaller and smaller as my son gets older.
He tries a pair on and runs around the store.
He does not like them he says.
They do not feel good like his old shoes.
He asks why he has to get new shoes.
He starts to get agitated.
I can see he is going to panic.
He climbs the stool and tries to hang from the shelf.
Now the sales lady panics.
I ask do you have the same shoes he has on in a size larger.
She says they do not.
I tell her am sorry.
I think I will just order them online at home.
Then we head to yoga berry but my son is not happy.
We waisted our time he says.
We get the yoga berry to go because my son tells me we used up all our time at the shoe store.
Later after we have been home and I have recovered from the shoe store trip I order the same old shoe in a size bigger.
The shoes are now half price.
And I think we may have wasted our time but I have just saved my money.
