You can make this craft two different ways.
Both ways use the starfish template you will find here.
I printed out the template and then traced it on the wrong side of the sandpaper.
Then I just cut out as many starfish as needed.
I used the very fine paper but any one works.
Once painted it will just have a different texture.
If you like a messier way to do this you can glue sand on the starfish – cut out of paper.
You don’t need to paint them or paint a background sea scene and glue them on after they have dried.
This was a cute craft and my son really enjoyed it.
Did you know Starfish (or Sea Stars as they are now referred to) are famous for their ability to regenerate limbs?
There are also 2,000 different species of starfish living in all the worlds oceans.
It’s not a fish.
It’s an echinoderm and closely related to sea urchins and sand dollars.
What fish only swims at night? A starfish.
And never ask for directions from a starfish!
