Am I too old to wear torn jeans?
My teenage daughters think not.
Am I too old for long hair?
Does my hair make me look like a hippie?
What about a bikini?
I’m now in my forties and I don’t know what the rules are anymore.
How do I want to grow old?
I love to crochet and read.
I’ve always thought of those as things old people do.
But I also love hip hop and watching the Kardashians with my daughter.
I think that aging is a balancing act.
I want to continue to learn and grow as a person.
I also think you have to keep checking on your priorities.
It’s important to “re-adjust your sails” if you notice your off course.
Most importantly though is realizing that aging is a privilege denied to many.
I try to remind myself of this on a day I’ve noticed a new wrinkle in the mirror.
How lucky I am to have it!
